Middle School students organize "change for change" drive; make donation to iloveorphans.com

In Waco, TX, National Junior Honor Society students from G.W. Carver Academy organized a "change for change" drive at their school. For three weeks, students went around with a large white bucket, encouraging classmates to find spare change at home, in their car, or in their rooms and bring it to school. At the end of the fundraiser, the students had collected just over $350 dollars in loose change. The group started the fundraiser to help raise awareness of poverty in Africa. They decided that they wanted to help create change for kids their age in Africa. iloveorphans.com graciously accepted the donation G.W. Carver Academy and is glad that we are partners with such a neat group of students.

Godfrey

Godfrey Wanamitsa, director of Arise Africa International, and our partner with this project, visited the United States during the month of October. Many of us were able to spend some quality time with Godfrey. During his stay, he was able to take in some sights in Birmingham, Alabama, where he spoke to the Dawson Young Professionals Class. It was great to hear from Godfrey. He shared the latest developments that have taken place out at the Bukaleba project. He is excited about our plan to help orphans.
