This is the latest newsletter that we have received from Arise Africa International about the Babies' Home recently constructed in Bukaleba, Uganda:
February 2010 brought us lots of Joy as we welcomed babies to their home in Bukaleba babies’ home. Thirty five children of the forty have arrived in the home. We are yet to receive more three. Unfortunately two died, as their health and conditions could not wait that long. We greatly regret their death. When the children arrived they had mixed reactions; the young ones welcomed their new life with yelling and crying as they were separated from their guardians; the older ones just walked around in silent, it was interesting looking at them as we wondered what was going on in their little hearts and minds. A few minutes later it was clear that they had come to a better home compared to where they had been. The toys, hot shower and the new clothes left by the visiting team from USA cleared all their fears. Eleven of the children where having a high fever, which we suspected to be as a result of Malaria for one actually had convulsions, (as seen in the down middle picture on the table being prayed for). The eleven were taken to the hospital immediately for treatment and they are recovering quite well. Most of the other children are suffering from malnutrition and we have put them on a high protein and vitamins diet hopefully they will recover soon.
The twenty two staff working in the babies’ home, are simply wonderful, they are doing such a wonderful job taking care of the children day and night. They cook for the children, feed and clean them, wash their cloth, read them Gods word, pray with them and as well play with them, they are doing everything and they are a blessing.. The older children are ready to begin nursery school. There is need to finish the nursery school immediately. We request that you pray with us for the healthy and security of these little precious beings; and provision of:
- A perimeter wall to enhance the security of the Children costing $3,888
